THE 40FOR40 SWEEPSTAKES (“SWEEPSTAKES”) BEGINS AT 12:01 AM PACIFIC TIME, PT (“PT”) ON 9/10/2026 and ENDS AT 11:59 PM PT ON 12/2/2026 (“SWEEPSTAKES ENTRY PERIOD”).
ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of the United States, age 18 years or older at time of entry. Void in MN, MT, WA and where prohibited by law. Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Governed by U.S. law. Employees and their immediate families (parents, children, spouse, siblings) and those living in the same household (whether related or not) of: Great Basin National Park Foundation, (“GBNPF”) ("the Sponsor") are not eligible to enter. Employees and their immediate families (parents, children, spouse, siblings) and those living in the same household (whether related or not) of Stargazer Inn & Bristlecone General Store, the Hidden Canyon Retreat, the Lehman Lodge, are not eligible to win lodging at the establishment they are connected to.
HOW TO ENTER: There are three (3) methods of entry.
Method #1 (online): To enter online and make a contribution, visit https://greatbasinfoundation.org/donate or https://greatbasinfoundation.org/sweepstakes (or other URL provided) and make a voluntary donation of any amount. All online/onsite entry notices posted at website apply. Online entries must be received between 12:01 AM PT 9/10/2026 and 11:59 PM PT ON 12/2/2026. Donations of any amount will grant the donor one entry into the Sweepstakes. Only one non-recurring donation per individual during the Sweepstakes entry period will result in an entry.
Method #2 (recurring donor automatic entry): Any existing recurring, routine donor to Great Basin National Park Foundation will receive one automatic entry. If the recurring donor does not wish to participate in the sweepstakes with this automated entry, s/he can write via postal mail to: Great Basin National Park Foundation, P.O. Box 181, Baker, Nevada 89311 or email greatbasinguardian@gmail.com.
Method #3 (postcard): To enter without a donation and as an alternative entry to Method #1 or #2, send a maximum of one standard, regular-sized postcard of any kind (only) with your name, address, phone number, email address (both are optional but recommended) and mail to: Sweepstakes Opt-In, Great Basin National Park Foundation, P.O. Box 181, Baker, Nevada 89311. Postcards can also be mailed in an envelope. All mail-in entries must be postmarked after 9/10/2026 before 12/2/2026 and must be received no later than 12/9/2026. Please do not send donations or correspondence with your entry. Only one postcard per individual will result in being granted an entry.
Entry materials/data that have been tampered, altered, photocopied or mechanically reproduced or from unauthorized channels are not eligible and will be void. Entry into the Sweepstakes constitutes your consent to opt-in to GBNPF newsletters and communications via email and your consent for Sponsor to obtain, use, and transfer your name, address and other information for the purpose of administering this Sweepstakes. Following the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, the Sponsor will not sell or share any personal data collected from entrants. Neither the Sponsor nor its designated agent assumes responsibility for third parties’ failure to act in accordance with Sponsor’s instructions pertaining to the implementation of the Sweepstakes. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, damaged, garbled, incomplete, illegible, misdirected or postage due mail/entries. All entries become Sponsor’s property and will not be returned or acknowledged.
CONSUMER DISCLOSURES: No purchase or contribution of any kind necessary to enter or win. You have not yet won. Ends 11:59 PM PT ON 12/2/2026. Five (5) prizes will be awarded. Maximum verifiable retail values (“VRV”) of all prizes: $2,059. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received, estimated at 1:1,000 for all prizes. One (1) Stargazer Prize #1 (total VRV: $250): Winner will receive a two night stay at the Stargazer Inn during the 2027 operating season. Winner must work directly with owners of the Stargazer Inn to find mutually agreeable dates for this stay.
One (1) Stargazer Prize #2 (total VRV: $250): Winner will receive a two night stay at the Stargazer Inn during the 2027 operating season. Winner must work directly with owners of the Stargazer Inn to find mutually agreeable dates for this stay.
One (1) Lehman Suite # 1 Prize (VRV: $498): Winner will receive a two night stay at the Lehman Lodge Suite #1 during the 2027 operating season. Winner must work directly with owners of the Lehman Lodge to find mutually agreeable dates for this stay.
One (1) Lehman Suite #2 Prize (VRV: $598): Winner will receive a two night stay at the Lehman Lodge Suite #2 during the 2027 operating season. Winner must work directly with owners of the Lehman Lodge to find mutually agreeable dates for this stay.
One (1) Hidden Canyon Prize (VRV: $463): Winner will receive a two night stay at a standard room at the Hidden Canyon Retreat during the 2027 operating season. Valid for a party of two. Winner may pay the difference to upgrade to a larger room or may opt for two standard rooms for one night each. Not valid on holidays or special events. Booking must be made directly through http://www.hiddencanyonretreat.com/index.html or by calling 775-293-3099.
For all winners: Each winner acknowledges the Released Parties (as defined herein) do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, condition, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of prize, except that prize will be subject to the manufacturer’s stated warranty, if any.
Prize images depicted in advertising and promotional materials may vary from the actual prize and any depiction of a prize is for illustrative purposes only and may not reflect the images of the actual prize won. The trademarks associated with prizes are the property of their respective owners.
WINNER SELECTION AND WINNER RESPONSIBILITIES: The random drawing will be conducted on or about 12/10/2026 from all eligible entries received. Potential winners will be notified via email and/or telephone promptly thereafter. Sponsor shall have no liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by a potential winner for any reason. All winners are required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability which must be signed and returned along with other documents required within ten days of date printed on notification or that potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be determined. All federal, state, local, and other taxes, costs and expenses relating to the use, acceptance and possession of any prize are the sole responsibility of each winner. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution will be offered. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.
GENERAL: By participating in the Sweepstakes, you (i) agree to be bound by these official rules, including all eligibility requirements, and (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and the independent judging organization, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Except where prohibited by law, entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use each winner’s name, home state, likeness, comments/statements and prize won for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing or electronic promotions of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of any prize or for any suspension of the Sweepstakes or inability to implement the Sweepstakes or award the prizes as contemplated herein due to any event beyond its control, including delays or interruptions caused by acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather, utility outages, acts of terrorism, or any federal, state, or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or regulator. RELEASE: Entrants on their behalf, and on behalf of their respective heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns (“Releasing Parties”), release, defend and hold harmless Sponsor, any entity involved in the fulfillment of the prizes or the administration of the Sweepstakes, and their respective employees, officers, directors and agents of each (“Released Parties”), from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, debts, dues, sums of money, accounts, reckonings, bonds, bills, specialties, covenants, contracts, controversies, agreements, promises, variances, trespasses, lost profits, indirect or direct damages, consequential damages, incidental damages, punitive or exemplary damages, judgments, extent, executions, claims and demands whatsoever, in law, admiralty or equity, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, against Released Parties which any one or more of the Releasing Parties ever had, now have or hereafter can, shall or may have which in any way arise out of or result from entrant’s participation, acceptance and use or misuse of any prize or portion of prize, including property damage, personal injury or death, and any travel related activities.

The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged or illegible entries; or (ii) error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, equipment, electronic, computer, hardware or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof; or (iii) any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Sweepstakes.
